There’s a positive surprise almost everyday at TechStars. This afternoon, it was Brad Feld as he stopped in for an impromptu open Q&A. Needless to say, he wowed the cohort.
When BFeld comes to speak, nobody is on their phones. When BFeld takes Q&A, there is never silence.
I asked him about his thoughts on Rand Fishkin @ SEOMoz after this blog post thriller that drips of openness and transparency.
He said “be your own person” & don’t try to be what any investor wants you to be. After reading what Rand has to say about Brad, you can see he practices what he preaches. I couldn’t provide a better summary so I’ve included Rand’s:
Nearly every entrepreneur and person connected to the startup field knows of Brad Feld and Foundry Group through the exceptional reputation they’ve built. Brad’s been named the most respected VC in the business, makes hilarious music parody videos, funds dozens of successful companies, co-founded Techstars, is a two-time entrepreneur himself, runs inhumanly long distances and sponsors lots of public bathrooms. He’s a very awesome, very weird and very Mozzy guy.
It’s guys like Brad that make the entrepreneurial world go around. We can’t wait to take some of his magic with us back to ATL.
