Automation Rules Enhancement: Trigger on Email Link Click Event

January 6, 2017

Automation rules can be used to execute any repetitive process that you’d normally have to do manually, and can include multiple actions built on a set of criteria. This function gives administrators more control over the flow of data, both in and out of the system. This also allows a criteria met by one SDR’s process to be reflected to the entire team, preventing duplicate communications at an Account-based Sales level.

Salesloft customers can now use email link clicks to trigger automation rules. Admins can select “When an Email Link is clicked by a Person” as a triggering event option in Automation Rules.

Click actions can be used to:

  • Set person fields,
  • Add person to a cadence
  • Remove a person (or companies) from all cadences

Salesloft admins can also use both Person or Company criteria when setting up the rule.
*Please note, Automation Rules are team-wide, and would potentially impact all email link clicks to all team members without additional criteria narrowing it down.

Examples:

“When a prospect clicks on a link in an email, then set Person stage to ‘Interested-Clicked Link.'”
This will update the stage for any prospect who clicks an email link to “Interested-Clicked Link,” which can be synced to Salesforce and potentially used to communicate with marketing departments or take additional actions. It would also indicate a level of interest for the sales rep to take additional action.

“When a prospect clicks on a link in an email, then remove them from all cadences and add them to the “High Interest-Clicked” cadence.”

This will remove the prospect from all other cadences and move them to a new cadence that’s specifically tailored to following up with interested prospects with more personalization.

Thank you for enabling Salesloft to continue to serve you. As always, we are excited to hear your feedback!
