/awesome – Introducing Slash Commands

June 29, 2017

We’re all looking for ways in which we can be a little more efficient, especially with tasks that we repeat over and over again. If you can drive efficiency in these repetitive tasks, you reap the rewards of that efficiency each time you carry out that task. Here at Salesloft, we’re always thinking deeply about how we can make the lives of salespeople more efficient so that you can do what you do best – source prospects, build pipeline and close deals.

With this in mind – and with a requisite nod to our Slack brethren who have made this ubiquitous –  we’re excited to introduce slash commands to the Salesloft platform.

Slash commands allow you to type information into an email preceded with a single / character that will be treated differently from regular content. Rather than having to navigate menus and click from dropdowns, typing a slash will now bring up a list of commands that are at your disposal.

For those not familiar with slash commands, here’s a visual to demonstrate…

Let’s take a look at some of the commands that we’re launching with:

  • /templates – choose from all available personal templates
  • /snippets – choose from all available snippets

Those teams that have a large amount of snippets or templates will benefit from type-ahead filtering with fuzzy matching where the results of the list will narrow to match what you’ve typed. So, typing /template VP will return templates that begin with or contain VP in the name.

Slash commands are available in the Salesloft platform for one-off emails and when running a cadence. As you’ve come to expect, we’re not stopping here. Slash commands are “en-vogue” and all of our development teams want in on the action. So stay tuned for more exciting additions to the slash commands features coming soon. Better yet, share your ideas with us.

We are grateful to have you here with us on this journey, and we hope you feel the Salesloft Love with this product announcement, our past product announcements, and the ones that are just around the corner. We are always excited to hear your feedback. For any questions please check out the Knowledge Base.
